Jim slipped away from work and met us at home before taking the front porch pics. Here are just a few of our little cutie pie.
Doesn't she look like such a big girl?
Washing the hands before class. The classrooms are peanut free, and there are a few kiddos with allergies so everyone washes away the germs before entering the room. It's a good thing they do this, Marleigh had eaten pb&j for lunch that day!
Marleigh's a very young 3 considering she'd just had her birthday on the 11th, school started the 25th. I'm not for sure, but I'd venture to say she's the youngest in her class. She was definitely the smallest in size compared to the kids I saw while there. As you can see in the pic, she can barely reach to hang her backpack on her assigned peg. I was there to help the first day but it'll become the teacher's duty from here on out. The drop off routine is to pull up to the curb and drop the kiddo at the door. There's obviously always a teacher there to greet them and guide them to the appropriate classroom, but it means that I won't be there to help her with any needs. The pick up routine is similar. I pull up, show my big neon sign that says Marleigh Eberhardt, and she comes running out. Several of the schools here operate this way and it's definitely got it pros and cons.
Marleigh's sweet teacher, Mrs. Erin
One of the CONS of the pick up routine is that I didn't even get to talk to the teacher to see how she did that day. But, there were no potty disasters, she wants to go back, and I didn't get a phone call from Mrs. Erin saying she's suspended, so I'm considering it a sucess!
